WE ARE NATURE

This sentence was the beginning of A NEW PATH. I was wondering why we keep fighting this war against nature despite the fact that we have all the knowledge on climate change and its brutal consequences. My conclusion was a lack of cultural connection to our foundation based on nature. We constructed a world where we see ourselves as something separated from the natural world. But this is an illusion we are telling ourselves. So we need a new story,

A NEW PATH, to remember where we are coming from:

"WE ARE JUST TINY LITTLE PIECES

IN THE CIRCLE OF CONNECTION

NOBODY REALLY CARES

IF WE GET LOST IN DISCONNECTION

THE REST WILL JUST CONTINUE

TO FOLLOW NATURES PATH

WHILE WE WILL DISAPPEAR

IN THE ILLUSION OF BEING

IRREPLACEABLE"

THE CRACKS IN THE ICE

For the sustainable fashion fair NEONYT which took place in Berlin, A NEW PATH was invited to present their products to bloggers, magazines, and influencers. As the topic of the fair was WE ARE WATER this sweatshirt was specially designed for this theme.  After seeing the documentary CHASING ICE on the melting ice of the arctic I wanted to communicate the beauty of the fragile icebergs while at the same time getting the feeling of our connection and responsibility to the cracks in the ice across:

"THE CRACKS IN THE ICE

ARE THE SCARS WE ARE LEAVING

BEFORE CHANGING ITS SHAPE

INTO RISING OCEANS"

This poem is printed on the left sleeve while the front side print shows an abstract picture of a 2,240 square meter iceberg split off from the Antarctic peninsula's Larsen C ice shelf on July 10-12. (source NASA Archive) On the backside, there is a small print with information of the iceberg. The crew neck is an oversize unisex shape made out of heavy 100% GOTS certified cotton knitted in the UK. The article is available soon as a limited edition made in Germany.
